Right, this is one of my proposed styles for my upcoming comic. It is based off one of my DABR entries, and Criscross said it might be interesting to revive it. (although, less 'spindly' this time)
The colors, this time, depends on the mood of the person is in. A Blue or Green color indicates a relaxed state of mind, while Reds and oranges mean a more intense emotion, like excitement or rage. Purples and Yellows indicate confusion or fear. Neutrals like Grey, White, or Brown are feelings of hopelessness, gloom, depression and the like. Yet each character has a unique shade of colors that they go through.

Well, the characters from left to right are Aikin, Grish, and Amy.

Any suggestions? It's a strange concept for a comic, but it might work.
